Your challenge
Now that BAS World was introduced in September 2021, IT engineering is at the heart of BAS Trucks. With over 50 IT engineers onsite and 45 offshore, we are entering into a phase of scale up and transformation. So from waterfall to agile, monolithic architecture to micro-services and +100 people scale-up in the next year for IT alone, you could not join us at a more exiting time!
BAS trades globally and to digitalize our process in trading commercial vehicles and machinery, we developed from the ground up BAS World. This e-commerce platform will flawlessly integrate all processes of the buying and selling of trucks without having to physically check in and out in Veghel.
As a DBA within our team, you will take responsibility from our developers for the classic DBA topics such as backup and recovery, replication, performance and tuning and garding the RDBMS gate.
Your day-to-day activities
- Take responsibility for the DBA landscape within BAS;
- Work with the team to extract applications from monolith to microservices;
- Work closely with the IT product owner, and provide desired solution to developers;
- Responsible for monitoring user access, performance, security, backup and recovery;
- Ensure data consistency across the different databases (microservces);
- Control access permission and privileges;
- Performance and tuning;
- Willingness to keep up to date.

Requirements:
- 7 years DBA experience;
- Experience with monolith conversions to microservices;
- Performance tuning 5 years;
- Good linux knowledge;
- MySQL and NoSQL (mongoDB) version for 5 years;
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
- An understanding of information legislation, such as the Data Protection Act.
