My journey

After graduating from high school in 2000, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Standing still wasn’t an option, so I got to work. After various jobs, from a factory to a gas station, my interest in technology began to become untenable.

I used to be crazy about cars and the like. But in the long run, this interest also spread to trucks. After applying for various truck companies, with my main preference being Volvo centred companies, I was invited for an interview in Veghel. Soon a second interview followed in Nijmegen, where I was then hired as a warehouse worker.

After doing this for 2.5 years, I was promoted to warehouse manager after the sudden, and much too early, loss of my then chief, Jan Vos. I put my shoulders to the wheel and went for it with full conviction. Ever since I’ve been fulfilling the role of warehouse manager.

My daily activities consist of managing 4 other warehouse workers, placing orders, unpacking orders, selecting parts for workshop and over-the-counter customers, stock management, consulting with other departments, workshop and reception, handling phone calls for the warehouse and so much more...

It is hard work, but that isn’t a problem since I go home every day feeling fulfilled.

This is what motivates me

Solving problems is what drives me. I try to perceive problems as challenges. To ensure that, whatever the problem (challenge) is, it is solved as well and as quickly as possible.

Proud of...

I am proud of the fact that I work at BAS and have freedom in my role was warehouse manager. Not many women work in the workshop or warehouse. I am proud that I am one of those few women who still stands their ground in the workshop. Over the years I have seen BAS grow, seize opportunities and never sit still. We continue to innovate and look ahead. It is hard work, but that isn’t a problem since I go home every day feeling fulfilled.
